Tasmanian Government extends fracking ban until 2020

A year ago the incoming Hodgman Goverment imposed a temporary 12-month moratorium on the environmentally unpopular oil and gas extraction method – also known as fracking. Primary Industries Minister Jeremy Rockliff today said, after considering a review into fracking’s potential uses and impacts, the government had decided to impose a five-year moratorium.
